Reason for objection:
Objection. The proposed new building may comply with planning regulations, however it is extremely basic & unattractive in design and would impact adversely on the view of South Riverside from the west. This begs the question why the existing [listed] pump house (currently in a state of neglect & boarded up) cannot be refurbished & brought back into use as an amenity building instead? In our view the applicant should take much greater care of this key site (which is quite derelict) & eg emulate the efforts being made on the Seething Wells campus opposite to bring its listed buildings back into use.
