Reason for objection:
Objection. This PA is completely out of proportion to the unspoiled riverside setting of the Hawker Club. Existing facilities are of low mass & scale & blend in with their bucolic surroundings. Whereas the proposed development is enormous (approx one half of the Hawker site) with extremely high lighting, fencing & other ancillaries. The resultant light & noise pollution would be unacceptable because of the extended use of the development & its significant adverse effect on the character of the CA, local residents whom, we are aware, are strongly opposed to it, & important wildlife including bat colonies.
Other significant concerns:
- The site is adjacent to a) a Site of Importance to Nature Conservation, b) an Archeological Priority Area - Tier 2, c) MoL.
- The applicant should consult with the LPA on its Biodiversity Action Plan, Species Action Plan & Habitat Action Plan.
- The LPA must consider non-consent to these pitches until a more sustainable alternative to the infill crumb is achieved given the amount of concern for microplastic contamination that would leach into rivers and watercourses.
- There is no Travel Plan as the applicant states that only locals would use the new pitch(es) .......where is the evidence for that? The CA could end up with an over-run of cars and traffic congestion, including large coaches.
