Reason for objection:
The committee welcomes the proposal to create a new home in this location however due to its important location at one of the the gateways to the park, a number of concerns were raised.
Concern with parking to front of site with viability of access and mature tree to centre of the main pedestrian access path, we therefore object in principle to front vehicular access from Browns Road. Rear parking should be single space to front of existing garage with access to have min. impact to parkland
Essential to maintain existing planting to perimeter of site
Concern with colour of proposed zinc cladding making such a bold statement in a sensitive parkland setting - other finishes available that would blend more harmoniously
Concern with extent of zinc cladding especially to upper vertical wall sections.
We welcome proposals to build a new house of high architectural standard that would act as a gatehouse to the park however to achieve this in a unique sensitive setting the current proposals would benefit from input from a Design Review with appropriate members of the Kingston Design Review Panel
