5. No comment/neutral
6. Lack of detail
7. Decision already issued

Reason for objection:

CAAC objected to the previous application to replace the existing timber door with a uPVC door on the following grounds: Although this house is modern, it lies within the Conservation Area and the doors and windows were originally constructed using timber. The proposed materials should match the existing ones, rather than using uPVC, which we believe would have a detrimental effect.

The council supported this view and the application was refused though the officer report stated that the UPVC guttering and downpipe that were also proposed were acceptable.

The current proposal is for a grey panelled modern style composite door. The existing door side panelling are in character and reflect the form of detail of the treatment to the fenestration across the frontage. Their replacement together with the new composite door would, it is considered, be harmful to the overall appearance of the elevation and it is considered that the previously expressed objection should be repeated in respect of this proposal as well.

Objection unless the chosen style of the composite door is more in-keeping with the front elevation's fenestration.
