Reason for objection:

Objection. The unauthorised intervention by this applicant into the fabric of this highly significant grade 2* listed building is most unfortunate. Making good these harmful changes & any new alterations must be scrutinised & signed off by the Borough’s Heritage Officer after physical inspection. The revised plans for the ground floor restaurant (‘stage 1’) are inadequate in their detail eg with no samples provided of proposed floor finishes. We do not approve of the cheaply fabricated reception desk, track lighting, or glazed panels which are unnecessary in our view. Furthermore, no details have been submitted of any new signage which must be subject of a separate application. Given this applicant’s poor track record, the LPA must ensure no further unauthorised works are undertaken by them on the first floor (‘stage 2’) without oversight of the Heritage Officer.
