Reason for objection:
Objection. We objected to the previous PA (22/03957) for this property which was refused by officers. We have considerable difficulty with this latest application. It would be a great pity to demolish the whole of the existing bungalow which is charming & echoes the grain & typology of the single storey riverside properties opposite on Trowlock Island. The proposed new build is too ‘grandiose’ & overbearing in design - particularly the riverside view - which would clash significantly in style with its iconic, landmark neighbour at 109 LHR. The proposed roadside elevation is more in keeping with the general character of the area &, if for example the plans were reversed to make it the riverside view, then that might form a basis for further discussions. But, in its current form, we cannot support this application. We also note that the applicant’s DAS is completely illegible & the application should be rejected for that alone.
